Promotional Events
For events, we always need volunteers to help with scheduling, holding/walking greyhounds, setting up/taking down tents, and taking pictures. View our schedule of upcoming events.
Education/Outreach/Fundraising
We organize a variety of education, outreach, and fundraising activities to promote awareness about adopting greyhounds. To support those efforts, volunteers write newsletter articles; design bulletin board displays; go on TV or radio to promote greyhound adoption; make and maintain business sponsorship contacts; distribute business cards or brochures; host birthday party fundraisers or “blanket drives”; answer the group’s phone; Web site design and maintenance; make phone calls (lost dogs, event reminders, adoption follow-up); and solicit financial or raffle prize donations.
Fostering and Adoptions
Volunteers can help recruit foster homes, transport and microchip foster dogs, or foster a dog in your home. You can assist with pre-adoption home visits or “match” visits, or photograph adoptable dogs (camera provided). We also need volunteers to assemble adoption and foster packets of information or help purchase, transport, and maintain the organization's inventory of crates, foster food, brochures, etc. Sadly, we sometimes need help with lost dog searches, too.
